Teaching Specialties:  Interpersonal, Gender, and Workplace Communication

Research Interests/Activities:  Gendered behavior and identity, theories of commitment, and friendships between men and women

Biography: 

Dr. Heidi Reeder holds degrees from the University of Oregon (B.A.), Stanford University (Master’s) and Arizona State University (Ph.D.), and has been teaching at Boise State for seven years. Her research on male-female communication, love, and friendship has been published in top communication journals such as Communication Monographs and the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and has led to appearances in both local and national media.  As the owner of SuccessTracks LLC, Dr. Reeder has provided communication training to organizations as diverse as Plexus Manufacturing to St. Luke’s Tumor Institute.  In 2007 she was named the Carnegie Foundation’s Idaho Professor of the Year.
