Biography:

Dr. Natalie Nelson-Marsh specializes in organizational communication and communication technologies.  These broad interests translate into a focus upon 1) the communicative constitution of virtual or distributed organizations, including how distributed organizations “hang together” across vast spans of time and space 2) how participants of virtual organizations socially construct organizational culture, 3) reconceptualizing the social and cultural aspects of communication technologies in the constitution of organizations.  Dr. Nelson Marsh’s work has appeared in the Management Communication Quarterly Journal and in the book Virtual and Collaborative Teams: Process, Technologies, and Practice.  Current projects include a qualitative study of the Internet Engineering Task Force, the virtual organization responsible for the continued development of the Internet Infrastructure.  Natalie earned two B.A.’s (2000) from the University of Utah, her M.A. (2002) from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and her Ph.D. (2006) from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
